Not Fit for Purpose

Bought sets for 2 bathrooms, with matching Project handles and doorlocks. The handles came with spindles the correct length for a standard door but the spindles for the turn & release were several centimetres too long. Why? One turn & release is unusable as the spindle jams before reaching the pinch screw. Both have levers whose threads are so poor they fall off, meaning a disabled person could be trapped in the room. I had to glue the lever on the one I used. The outside cover slides onto a flimsy plastic circle which doesn’t hold it firmly, and there’s no pinch screw. As a result you can easily pull the inside lever off complete with spindle, also trapping the occupant. I had to glue the spindle into the outside emergency release. So far so bad, but at least I’d got it functioning. (Couldn’t refit the previous catch as I’d hollowed out the door for the new). Now the outside cover turns on the inadequate plastic circle, so the red/white (engaged/vacant) indicator is unreliable.
