Ok, but thought they'd be better.

They're ok, but took a while to get through the steel, probably one in ten failed to do so. I was drilling through 7 - 8mm steel to fix timber plates.

good screws, bit expensive, will self drill through timber (then as designed) the wings break off and it will self drill into 1.5mm steel section. great if you need to fix 4x2 timber on to mild steel / metsec studs

Good choice for the job

Bought these to attach timber fence rails to a galvanised field gate post. Pre drilled the timber then drove these in with an impact driver. Three rails done in a flash two fixings on each. Fence now feels sturdy. Will be using again and would recommend.

Have now bought a number of things from ironmongery direct. Items arrive promptly. I had initially tried to get these screws from my local B&Q and Wickes who didn't have them. I found exactly what I wanted on ironmongery direct. The box of screws arrived next day, and gate post was fixed within an hour of receiving the screws. I only needed 3 screws so now have a box of 97 spare!
