Because I was working on a job that had several different surfaces a multipurpose screw like this was ideal.

good bite
starts easy and goes in easy , I have used these multifix screws many many times always sucessfully , just drill straight through the frame and into the block/brick/concrete etc and screw in and the best thing is do not overtiten and the frame will not be distorted . Make sure you drill the right size whole as indicated on the box!
