Working on MDF, there isn’t a better screw to use than spax.

Highly recommended
Having been a self employed plumbing and heating engineer for many years, it’s not just pipes and fittings we deal with. All aspects of plumbing require some construction of sorts, from hanging radiators to full refurbishment of bathrooms. I have tried many cheaper varieties to start with, but have found only one make which I can truly say are the most reliable, strong and always perform and that is Spax. Fantastic variety of sizes and types of screw and also stainless steel for those jobs where you need to fix that WC to the wall.
