Needed these for some new sash windows in a Grade 2 listed cottage. First time in I had used them. Machined the rebate, very easy to install. I fantastic product which will come into it's own if the windows ever need to be removed for painting. Highly recommend using these.

IronmongeryDirect good: Mighton products inadequate

IronmonergyDirect provided the Mighton Sash Cord Retainer promptly, and as advertised. Unfortunately Mighton could not provide me with a router guide. Such a router guide as demonstrated by their rival Ventrolla on YouTube. I have since had a few guides knocked up by a local tradesman and hope to shame Mighton into providing them themselves. It is not rocket science! Maybe Ironmongery Direct might be interested in selling router guides for the Mighton Sash Cord Retainer. All inquiries welcome.

It is important to note that these only work with the correct stretched nylon cord. I used the correct cord but this kept slipping out the retainers. In the end I contacted manufacturers to ensure I was fitting them correctly and was advised there had been a faulty batch and they immediately replaced them. I was delighted with the response and find the retainers excellent, especially as this was my first sash window overhaul with windows removed and replaced on several occasions for wood repair, painting, fitting double glazing, fitting new sash weights, and draft proofing. I am now going to do the complete house and these will definitely be at the top of my purchase list.
