Sturdy legs that will do the job well and how to avoid mistakes.

I put these on the bottom of two large and heavy sofas, they have replaced the old, much shorter legs perfectly. The base plates and legs are strong and the legs solidly welded on to the plates. We have moved the sofas around to make sure that they slide well on the plastic feet and there is no drag, or looseness. I used 4mm x 40mm screws which worked perfectly with the base wood of the sofas, but obviously you need to make sure that the base of your furniture is sufficiently thick. I would avoid going and smaller than this width. Beginner Tips: Always drill befire you screw in the screws to avoid splitting the wood. Do not position the legs too close to the edge of the wood, or old screw holes, or be tempted to use old screw holes either. If you use a power tool to put the screws in then beware of the tool jumping out of the screw and ripping the heads. A drill on slow is still too fast for most jobs, this one included. Go for a well charged decent brand electric screwdriver. Push down firmly and keep the tool at 90° to the screws and go easy towards the end by pulsing the trigger.

Other than very sticky labels, this does the job - great!
