Good but not so good

I have bought several of these type of products and there are always bits missing. Not ID fault as they are obviously delivered like this from the manufacturer.

Chipped paint

Item looks good, but IronMongery's packaging was poor, so the paint on the T-hook was chipped - even on 2nd delivery. Some of the Black endcaps were also missing.

Neat storage idea

Bigger and better quality than expected. Bought to carry mouldings under garage roof. A little more delighted than I should be...

Great Item, However

the screws that come with the product were cheap and nasty. I ended up using alternative after the supplied ones just cross threaded

Solid, versatile ceiling-mount hook

I bought a number of the ceiling-mount hooks in order to de-clutter the garage, and provide myself with the capability of storing long, seldom used items out of the way whilst still remaining accessible. The hooks are of a sturdy construction, with fully welded joins at the top and bottom of the vertical strut, and a top mounting bracket cut from reasonable thickness steel. The top bracket has holes for four fixings. Using all of these to screw directly up into the roof support trusses resulted in a very stable mounting. I therefore have the confidence that whatever I place on the hooks, the loading limitation isn't going to be the hook construction itself. The lower support provides a horizontal base for whatever is to be located on the hooks. This in itself was one of the main reasons for selecting these hooks, as some of the items that I needed to store were flat-bottomed, and weren't suited to a rounded-surface hanger. The fact that the hook provides an equal support surface at either side of the vertical strut means that as long as the hook is equally loaded on either side, there are no bending forces at the joint between the vertical and horizontal bars, as would be exhibited on an L-shaped bracket. The end uprights, whilst short, are sufficient for my application to prevent items from rolling off of the hooks. They are fitted with a small end-cap to cover the end of the tube, and hence remove any potential sharp edge. The orientation of the hook, with the top fixing bar aligned parallel with the lower support rail means that it is not practical to install a row of hooks along a single roof truss. The hooks are designed so as to allow the suspended load to span across a number of trusses. The maximum length of material that can be suspended is therefore limited by the (in my case) width of garage available. My application didn't require a large amount of weight to be suspended, and I would have liked the option to install a row of hooks along the length of the truss, thus providing the capability of storing longer items. Perhaps the manufacturer would consider a variation to the product range, to have the fixing bar perpendicular to the support rail in order to facilitate this, and de-rate the hook loading accordingly? All in all, the hooks fit the bill perfectly to sort out my clutter, and they were a breeze to fit.
