Excellent hinges but poor instructions

Great quality hinges, It doesn’t say in the description but the diamond shaped holes allow M8 carriage bolts to be used, (coach screws are supplied) I used these on my shed door so that the fixings cannot be unscrewed from outside. Unfortunately the instructions supplied are poor, no information on how to adjust or activate the self closing mechanism, just a card that directs you to visit a website which shows lots of different hinges, but not these.

Does what the postman doesn’t

I need our front gate to close so that our pets don’t run out into the road so I had to find a suitable sprung hinge and didn’t want a plastic one. This one is plenty solid enough but also has the ornate look that is in keeping with a period property. It’s too early to say what the weather will do to it but I’m certainly happy so far. The tension is adjustable so that it won’t crash shut or swing in the wind. My only down side was that it looked like the ad was for one hinge so I ended up buying two pairs - I wasn’t overly bothered as I will also be making a back gate.
