Not strong enough for the job
Bought 2 of these to support open lid of tool chest.both broke within 1 day with the rivet attaching the arm to the steel angle plate bending and slipped out of the arm.the "metal" brackets bent. Surprised at I . Direct selling such flimsy items Don't waste your money. Don't recall seeing any weight limit put on lids in sales blurb. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Frictionstay
Requires locking screw thread to be made deeper as locking screw is bottoming before screw is fully in contact with the stay arm.
