An easier solution than gas strut

I am making an under tv cabinet with a pull down flap for players like dvd and satellite box. Looking for some sort of device to arrest the door so the hinge not over stretch, gas strut or cheaper alternative either too fiddly to set up or not practical as my pull down door is only about 15cm in height. Although this product state the minimum height is 20cm but I found it still works perfectly as intended. Would use it again if needed and happy with the service of supplier
