Not what it should be

Product manufacturing quality is very poor and a disappointment. They are a danger to young children in the event of a fire there is no way children could unlock a door. The quality is so bad I even failed to open and close the bolts without the use of a hammer and will be returning all 4 of my order.

Replacement

All doors in our Steading conversion have these bar one, they all now have them excellent

Colonial Bolt

We brought the handle for the gate some time ago I had put it on but it look very nice with the old bolt but now the new one is on it's lovely really looks good thank you.

Broke after 3 Weeks

Choose this item because it looked so much better than cheaper alternatives available, felt good quality when I open the box, but unfortunately has only lasted 3 weeks before breaking

Bolt End Needed Substantial Adjustment to Fit Into Keep

The bolt shank was too big for the keep. Had to remove paint all round from the last 30mm at the end of the shank and grind the metal down to get it to fit into the keep. However, even then, bolt does not fully engage through more than 50% of the keep. Had to fit it for security so did not return it. Lesson learnt.....had not realised Colonial meant inferior product probably from the Far East. No information on country of manufacture on the box, bolt or paperwork.
