Dodgy bolt

The bolt dropped out of the casing and won't lock back in.

Reasonable quality and appear to do the job.

I bought 2 pairs and they are both consistent (dimensions, finish, hole position, etc. Simple enough to fit although you do need to measure carefully - a small note of dimensions (i.e. distance from front mounting plate to key hole centre) would be useful to include in the package. Although the screws appear small, they seem to be of good quality; no danger of damaging the head through over-tightening. How well they perform over time is yet to be determined.

I was looking for this item in local hardware stores and as I could not find it, I searched the web and found Ironmongery direct, which had exactly the part I need. Service was first class. The item was delivered earlier than estimated on the order. Will use the company again

Poor product - misdescribed

This is a poorly made rack bolt far below the quality one usually expects from ID. It is NOT brass but a rubbish electro brass imitation. The bolt itself is smaller than the diameter of the lock and wouldn't last long under an attack. I should have taken in the first review and avoided buying this rack bolt. ID have taken it back and I've bought the Yale version which is real brass!

Disgraceful.

Purchased as difficult to find this size, extremely low budget very cheaply made after installing the mechanism gave up leaving me with it locked in position unable to open window. DO NOT PURCHASE!
