Altro Straight Barrel Bolt - 100 x 25mm - Satin Chrome

Customer care is abominable.

I was delivered 11 handles that included 88 screws. When installing the first 4 handles over 10 of the screws broke off the heads or the head stripped. The delivery was supposed to include a door bolt that was missed from the package. I contacted Ironmongery Direct and they sent me the missing bolt next day but refused to send me some spare screws. They said I had to go through their (extremely complicated) complaints & claims procedure. Instead, I had to drive 10 miles into town for the new screws. It was a waste of time and petrol for the sake of £2.00 on a £250.00 order. In the end over 25 screws were broken or stripped with one package of 8 screws having 7 broken heads. I have since found out that they know they have a quality problem with their screws, bad reviews are everywhere. The least they could do is chuck a few in a box they were sending anyway!!!! The handles are good enough for the money; the screws are poor quality and frustrating; Customer care is abominable.

Looks good and easy to fit

This was to replace an inferior bolt which had been supplied by the manufacturer of the summerhouse and we had painted over. It was easy to fit although the screws were a bit fiddly, being so small and slot headed so my clumsy fingers had a little bit of a challenge but, once fitted they (2) have enhanced the building greatly.
